LAUNCH: TUESDAY NIGHT 11th MARCH 2014
On Tuesday 11th March, Jaguar's C-X17 will be previewed at
#thearthunter, a pop-up art installation created by iconic website
The Cool Hunter. Two hundred of Sydney's coolest guests, including
Steve Pavlovic and Tanja Gacic, Felix Forrest and Edi Robinson,
Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy, Carmen Hamilton and Sarah Wilson
will join Matthew Beaven, Jaguar's Chief Exterior Designer, to
experience the concept car first-hand.
#thearthunter's 120 extraordinary art works have been curated by
The Cool Hunter's founder and Creative Director, Bill Tikos, and
hung in a space in Alexandria designed by Sydney-based creative
agency, The Artistry. "This is not just an art exhibition nor is it
a car launch. This space has a pulse", say's The Artistry's
creative partner Phil Barker.
The interior of #thearthunter has been carved outinto discrete
areas, each themed around colour, shape and texture, with mirrors,
hidden doors, reflections and projections to constantly surprise,
and reveal. Studio Neon's Aaron Teece and Richard Robinson have
also created an extraordinary, artistic food and wine experience to
match the space. "We've developed Andy Worhol's famous Campbell's
Tomato Soup, we've got edible paint, we've even referenced Van
Gogh. We're making sure the food is as much a piece of art as the
rest of the room," says Teece.
Matthew Beaven, the Chief Exterior Designer in Jaguar's Advanced
Design studio at Whitley, will be flying in especially for the
opening. He says, "This partnership with #thearthunter is very
exciting. The core of the Jaguar brand is that it makes you feel
alive. And art and design are the foundation of that. It's a great
way to showcase the pinnacle of our design and technology in a way
that talks to a culturally diverse audience".
