Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin, two-time World Champion and Australian Olympic Snowboarder, is training for next year's Winter Olympics with the help of Mazda, having signed on as a Mazda ambassador.

Pullin created history becoming Australia's first Snowboard World Champion after taking out the Snowboard Cross event at the FIS World Titles in Spain in January 2011. That same year, he won the World Cup Championship having reached the podium in four of the previous five World Cup events of the season.

In 2018, Pullin will represent Australia in the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

The ultimate thrill-seeker and adventure lover, Pullin will be driving the top-of-the-range Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 Akera, Australia's favourite SUV for the past four years.

"I'm stoked to be a part of the Mazda family," says new Mazda Australia ambassador 'Chumpy' Pullin.

"The CX-5 Akera is great to take to the snow filled with all my gear, and more importantly, it handles the conditions perfectly.

"When I'm not training, I throw my surfboard in the boot and head down the beach for a surf. The CX-5 is big enough to suit my lifestyle, yet small enough to cruise through the city in.

"I'm very much looking forward to working with the Mazda team."

In the months leading up to the Olympics, and after, Pullin will be a regular at Mazda events - particularly during the Australian snow season - and will have a strong lifestyle social media focus.

"Alex is one of Australia's great athletes, and we are proud to now have him as part of the Mazda family," said Mazda Australia marketing director Alastair Doak.

"Chumpy has a fantastic attitude to his career and is a very down to earth person, he is a great fit for the Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 and we look forward to working with him."

Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin joins Neighbours star Jodi Anasta, North Melbourne captain Jack Ziebell, television presenter Lauren Phillips, 'The Block' Reno royals Kyal and Kara Demmrich, and musical theatre star Rob Mills in Mazda Australia's ambassador program
