Volvo Car Australia last night announced the winners of its Awards of Excellence
recognising the top Volvo dealerships and staff across Australia.
At a gala dinner held at Sydney's Taronga Zoo, Volvo Cars Sydney won the
Pinnacle award for the best Major Metropolitan dealership in Australia.
Geelong based Rex Gorrell Volvo won the Pinnacle award for the best
Metropolitan dealership, and the Moss Vale based Allan Mackay Volvo won the
Pinnacle award for the best Rural dealership in Australia.
Volvo's Awards of Excellence are judged on a rigorous set of criteria, including
outstanding customer service, sales and market share.
The following runners-up awards were also announced last night:
Peak award Major Metropolitan - Volvo Cars Parramatta
Peak award Metropolitan - Volvo Cars Mosman
Peak award Rural - John Davis Motors
Volvo Cars Sydney Dealer Principal Nick Pagent said; "Winning these awards for

Additionally Volvo Cars Sydney staff Johanna Storm was named Sales
Consultant of the Year and Jason Wang won Sales Manager of the Year.
On winning the metropolitan Pinnacle award Jason Gorell said; "2016 has been a
fantastic year for Rex Gorell Volvo and we are very excited and proud to be
taking this award home with us. Our partnership with Volvo is highly valued and
we foresee a bright future, particularly with the brand direction and product range
coming in the years ahead".
David Mackay Dealer Principal of Allan Mackay Volvo in winning the Rural
Pinnacle award. "This is indeed a proud moment for our business. We have been
a Volvo dealer for over twenty years and have always been proud to represent
Volvo in the Southern Highlands. A testament to all of our staff as they
continually strive for excellence in customer service".
Volvo Car Australia Managing Director Kevin McCann said; "These are all
thoroughly deserved awards and we are very pleased to be able to recognise the
outstanding efforts of our best and most dedicated dealers".
In 2016 Volvo Car Australia recorded its biggest ever sales, reinforcing its status
as one of Australia's fastest growing luxury car brands. Volvo's record sales in
Australia mirrors strong growth globally, with the Volvo Group reporting a third
consecutive year of record sales in 2016, increasing 6.2 per cent compared to
2015, to 534,332 cars sold.
