Zetland, 01 December 2022 – A new era in high-performance, all-electric motoring is underway in Australia with the eagerly anticipated arrival of the Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT models. The first deliveries to customers have begun, with the award-winning all-electric grand tourers assuming their place as the flagship models for the brand's growing electric offering Down Under.
The future of performance
With its combination of captivating styling and blistering performance, the stunning four-door coupé represents an exciting new face for electric mobility from Audi, staking its claim as the gran turismo of the future.
“The e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT represent a new era in performance for Audi,” says Jeff Mannering, Director of Audi Australia.
“That they combine striking design with the highest standards of performance and handling with all-electric drive and zero emissions just makes them all the more compelling.
“With these cutting-edge grand tourers, the future of truly exciting motoring is in safe hands.”
The e-tron GT quattro starts from $180,200*, the luxurious four-door coupé featuring a generous list of standard equipment. With its long wheelbase, wide track, and large 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, the e-tron GT has an unmistakable presence. While with Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light also featured as standard, even at a glance its advanced technology is perfectly in keeping with the car's stunning design.
A true driver's car
At the heart of the Audi e-tron GT are two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, combining to produce an output of 350kW (390kW boost) and 630Nm. The incredible RS e-tron GT goes even further, with 440kW (475kW boost) and 830Nm, reaching 100km/h from standstill in a staggering 3.3 seconds. The 93 kWh battery allows a driving range of up to 540 kilometres (NEDC combined range) for the Audi e-tron GT, and up to 504 kilometres for the RS e-tron GT. Recharging at the maximum 270kW Direct Current (DC) capacity replenishes 100km in just five minutes.
Dynamically, the e-tron GT also features three-chamber adaptive air suspension as standard, for a truly customisable driving experience. It provides a brilliantly smooth ride when cruising on the highways or in daily motoring, but transforms the e-tron GT into a thrilling, responsive performance specialist when tested by challenging driving roads.
Driving comfort is likewise assured inside the sumptuous cabin, which delivers tremendous room for passengers thanks to clever design and the absence of a transmission tunnel. The sport seats are finished in leather upholstery and complemented with either graphite grey or walnut grey-brown inlays. The front seats and steering column are electronically adjusted and the driver's seat features a memory function. Front seats are heated and with three-zone climate control and comfort stationary remote air-conditioning, the large, spacious cabin provides a luxurious counterbalance to the e-tron GT's more dynamic side. A Dinamica interior package using high-quality materials featuring recycled content adds sport plus front seats with adjustable thigh support, vegan Dinamica seat upholstery and headlining for environmentally conscious customers looking to add more luxurious interior features.
A triumph of technology
The e-tron GT features a state-of-the-art array of the Audi infotainment and safety technology befitting the car's position as a flagship for the brand. Virtual cockpit plus, Audi Connect plus, wireless smartphone interface and charging, DAB+ digital radio as well as a Head-up display are all standard inclusions. Taking full advantage of the whisper-quiet interior, an incredibly powerful 16-speaker sound system by Bang & Olufsen provides concert-like sound to delight the most discerning audiophile.
Of course safety is always a priority and to that end a full suite of driver assistance systems are included, featuring side assist, adaptive cruise assist, active lane assist, intersection assist, pre-sense, 360-degree cameras, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Customers can select from six no-cost metallic finishes, or solid Ibis white, with a sleek panoramic glass roof also equipped as standard.
RS goes all-electric
The RS e-tron GT advances to the next level. Starting at $248,200* the first-ever all-electric model to wear the coveted RS badge draws on the proud Audi Sport tradition and presents it as never before. With the same width as the e-tron GT, it rides on larger 21-inch alloy wheels that house tungsten carbide brake discs, clamped with distinctive red calipers. Thrilling drive dynamics are heightened with the e-quattro sport differential with torque vectoring and all-wheel steering.
Black exterior styling complements carbon fibre interior inlays, adding to the visual impact and pairing well with the six fine Nappa leather interior trims and the eight metallic exterior finishes available to customers, with Ascari Blue and Tactical Green exclusive to the RS variant. RS sport front seats offer ventilation and four-way lumbar support and feature the distinctive honeycomb of the elite RS ranks, while the sport steering wheel with its flat-bottom, heating capability, and large paddles to control regeneration levels make it a joy to command such an inspiring vehicle.
The sound of performance
Despite its all-electric drivetrain, the RS e-tron GT has its own distinctive sound developed exclusively in the Audi Sound Lab. The uniquely-composed sound emanates from speakers both inside and outside the vehicle and use data from the rotational speed of the electric motors and a host of other parameters to echo the performance of the vehicle, both to those inside and outside the vehicle. The synthetic sounds offers an authentically and finely nuanced impression of the work performed by the electric drive system, perfectly in keeping with the holistic high-performance driving experience.
Fast efficient charging options
Both models can be charged via a supplied 11kW AC home-charging kit (requires three-phase electrical infrastructure to support this), or up to 270kW DC fast-charging. This fast-charging option is suitable for stopovers on long journeys, charging from five percent to 80 percent of charge in just 22.5 minutes. The 11kW AC home-charging solution can fully recharge the e-tron GT twins overnight.
Thanks to our partner JETCharge, the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT are offered with a complimentary standard installation for charging at home.
Audi Australia is also offering all e-tron vehicles – including the e-tron GT models – with a comprehensive customer offer that includes a six-year subscription to the Chargefox charging network, which means e-tron owners are provided unlimited charging on all ultra-rapid and selected fast and standard chargers within the Chargefox network of which Audi is a founding partner.
