MEDIA RELEASE, PAIHIA: On Saturday 12 March, just under a thousand motorcyclists took part in a colossal convoy ride from Paihia to Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands as part of the Harley-Davidson Iron Run.

As the largest festival of its kind in the country, the 56km Thunder Run ride was for many, the highlight of the two days of festivities with the Northland providing a stunning backdrop and some of New Zealand’s finest cruising terrain.

Nigel Keough, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson Australia & New Zealand comments: “Each year the Iron Run is getting bigger and bigger in size.  From the number of riders participating, to the local spectators who come and cheer the procession on, it’s a fun couple of days for all the family as we showcase and celebrate the world’s best loved bikes and the exciting lifestyle motorcycling offers.”

The Iron Run entertainment extended beyond the Thunder Run, the Harley-Davidson Show & Shine delivered an exhibition of new, vintage and customised Harley-Davidson motorcycles polished to perfection.

Josh Kronfeld, Harley-Davidson New Zealand Ambassador comments: “New Zealand has never seen so much leather and chrome in one place. Paihia was absolutely buzzing with the iconic sound of the Harley-Davidson throttle, it was a phenomenal sight that had to be seen to be believed.”

On Friday evening H.O.G. members were invited to an exclusive party at Waitangi Treaty Grounds where ‘Wentworth’ actress and fellow rider, Danielle Cormack was in attendance. The celebrations kicked off with a traditional Maori cultural performancelive music from Paul Symons and the Recliner Rockers before concluding with The Groovediggers who dominated the dance floor with crowd favourites.
