Honda's 2006 range of TRX 4-wheelers has again secured the number one position in the ATV category for the first nine months of the year, according to figures released by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).

The TRX350TM sold more than any other sole model in its class, with Honda also producing five of the top ten sellers for the year.

Overall, Honda 4-wheelers (4WMC) hold the number one position in the agricultural segment in Australia with a whopping 37% total share of the market, and an increase of 10% over sales during the same period of last year.

"We continue to excel in the agricultural sector because Honda is known for recognising the needs of land owners," said Rod Day, Business Development Manager for Honda's 4WMC's.

Those needs include having a reliable, easily maintained work horse at their disposal that will last the distance.

"For quite some time, Honda has opted to offer either 5 speed manual gearboxes or 'hydrostatic' automatic transmissions as opposed to using V-belts," Day added.

"The reason for this is that customers have shown they are less than satisfied with the number of v-belt drive systems failing in the field due to moisture, heat, hard acceleration and/or dust."

To celebrate their #1 position, Honda recently announced very special prices on their range of the top selling TRX350 'Fourtrax' 4WMC's between now and 31 December 2006.

Staring at just $8490, customers can choose between a traditional foot-shift model and the innovative FourTrax 350 "ES" with Honda's Electric Shift Program.

Further news is that the TRX350 is set to be replaced by the all new TRX420 from next year.

The all-new 420cc fuel-injected models - also available with manual shifting or Honda's exclusive Electric Shift Program - will take the legendary mid-sized utility to a new level of performance.

In addition to a fuel-injection system for consistent performance and improved cold-weather starting, the new larger 420cc liquid-cooled engine, offers increased power.

All models also feature new dual front disc brakes for improved braking performance in all conditions.

Further information regarding the TRX420 will be made available in the near future. For full specifications on all models of the current TRX350, check out: www.hondamotorcycles.com.au
