07 June 2013 - Leading the way in innovative Side-by-Side vehicle technology is Honda's all-new Pioneer™. Packed with Honda expertise and features, the Pioneer which will be available as a four-seat and two-seat machine, will make its way down under in early 2014.

Designed, developed, and expertly built in the USA, the new Pioneer features a liquid-cooled engine, double wishbone front-suspension, durable automotive-style automatic transmission and Honda reliability and dependability nobody can touch.

Exceeding previous Side-by-Side vehicles, Honda's four seat variant, the Pioneer 700-4, boasts a clever, adaptable design that allows the two rear seats to fold into the bed. With the ability to be used as a two-seat, three-seat or four-seat Side-by-Side, the rear seats can be quickly and easily folded away so the complete bed space with hydraulically-assisted tilt function can be fully utilised.

At the heart of this capable vehicle is Honda's 675cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that has lots of torque and plenty of power. Fuel injection means it will always start up, even on cold days or at high altitude and an all-new intake design helps minimise dust ingestion.

In contrast to a belt drive system, the automotive-style Honda Automatic Transmission, with a heavy-duty torque converter and three hydraulic clutches provides positive engine braking. These features together with a two-stage shift map optimise the power delivery throughout the engine's rev range.

The Pioneer's rugged and solid construction is supported by long-travel suspension of 200mm in front and 230mm in the rear which provides a plush ride with class-leading stability. In addition to a fully independent rear suspension, the rear shocks feature preload adjustability to handle the Pioneer's generous load capabilities. Equipped to carry 454 kilograms or tow 680 kilograms, Honda's Pioneer is ready for the toughest work.

Featuring well thought out details like a standard water-resistant glovebox door, easy to read dash and patented strut system for the folding seats in the four-seat version, this is a vehicle that gives you a lot more for your hard-earned dollar. Available in Honda's iconic red colour, the Pioneer has rugged and aggressive styling.

The new Pioneer's Occupant Protection Structure has been built out of sturdy, large diameter tubing and includes details such as integrated handholds, recessed top tubes and a more spacious structure to enhance protection. It also meets OSHA's 1928.53^ rollover protection standard.

Ready to tackle the toughest Australian terrain, the compact dimensions of Honda's new Pioneer offers high level of manoeuvrability and the impressive turning radius will get the Pioneer out of any tight spot.

The Pioneer™ 700-2 two seater boasts all of the same revolutionary features but instead of the fold-down in-bed seating, it features a conventional hydraulically-assisted tilt bed.

With a build quality no others can match, the new Pioneer™ 700-4 and the Pioneer™ 700-2 will be available in Australia early 2014. Information regarding price will follow in the coming months.
