Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team's Chris Alldredge and Jay Wilson have wrapped up the final two rounds of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship over the weekend in strong positions.

Wilson secured 7th in the SX1 Championship and Alldredge rounding out the season with another top ten finish at the AUS-X Open in Sydney.

Wilson and Alldredge put on a solid performance against some of the biggest names in Supercross history in front of close to 28,000 fans at Qudos Bank Arena over the two days.

Despite tough competition, Alldredge managed to gain entry into the night show on both Saturday and Sunday, finishing 11th in the main event on night one and bettering his result on day two by finishing the second SX1 final in 9th.

"I had a lot of fun at the AUS-X Open, with such a talented field of riders it really brought out the fans and as a rider I always enjoy competing in front of big crowds like that," Alldredge shared.

"Being such a tight stadium there was a lot of bar to bar racing which really makes the atmosphere of the event and I'm stoked to have been a part of that."

"I'd like to thank Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team for giving me the opportunity to come over and race, I've had a blast and I'm definitely a big fan of Australian Supercross." Alldredge added.

Despite narrowly missing out on entry in to the SX1 final on both Saturday and Sunday at the AUS-X Open, Wilson's consistency paid dividends at the conclusion of yesterday's championship count, placing Factory Honda in 7th in the overall championship standings after six hard fought rounds of racing.

"It feels great to wrap up the Supercross championship with a 7th in my rookie year. It wasn't exactly what I pictured for myself going in to the season but I probably picked the most difficult year to step up to the MX1 and SX1 class – I'm proud of what I've managed to achieve," Wilson said.

"I had never raced an indoor before AUS-X Open on the weekend but I've only just turned 22 so it feels good to know that I have my whole career in front of me and to be able to carry the lessons from this year into 2017 and beyond."

"I'd like to thank Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team for having me on board this season – I've been lucky enough to have a few key people in my corner and I'm excited to continue those relationships in to the future." Wilson added.

The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team would like to extend their sincere thanks to the team's sponsors, partners and supporters who contributed to making all six rounds of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship a success.
