It's business as usual at Panus Semi Trailers, Thailand's largest manufacturers of trailing equipment and now a major supplier to the Australian transport market.

Despite the current problems affecting Chinese manufacturers that are finding it difficult to source components due to the onset of the Coronavirus, production at the Bangkok based manufacturer is not affected by delays in the supply of its componentry.

"Panus sources items such as axles, suspensions and coupling systems used in the construction of its range of trailing equipment from Australian suppliers," said Ron Gysberts, General Manager for Panus Semi Trailers.

"That enables Panus to respond quickly to the demand for new equipment from Australian operators, while also safeguarding the warranty and product support that results from buying from local Australian divisions of global suppliers," Mr. Gysberts added.

From the factory south east of Bangkok at Chonburi, Panus Assembly is currently building up to 200 trailers per month with a workforce of 900 employees. When operating at peak capacity with 1,100 employees, the 52-acre factory site is able to produce up to 350 trailers per month.

"Since launching our range of retractable skeletal trailers and flat tops onto the Australian market we have added additional models such as drop-decks, dollies and fully compliant PBS combinations," said Mr. Gysberts.

"All our range of equipment is backed by a product line that is already certified to ISO9001: 2008 plus OHSAS 1800:2007/TIS 1800:2011 standards.

"At a time when many suppliers have been disadvantaged by Coronavirus, at Panus Semi Trailers our aim is to have the right products available with minimum wait times to assist Australian operators in rebuilding and re-supplying all forms of the Australian transport industry," said Mr. Gysberts.
