Jaguar Land Rover Australia today reported record retail sales of 16,600 vehicles in the financial year, up 11% compared to last year, and exceeding 16,000 Australian sales for the first time in the company's history.

Retail sales for the Fourth Quarter were 4,768 vehicles, and March sales reached 1881 units, up 3.4% on March 2016.  Retail sales for the full financial year were up year-on-year by 11%.

Matthew Wiesner, Jaguar Land Rover Australia Managing Director said:  "These numbers set the seal on Jaguar Land Rover's ninth successive year of sales growth and take us through the 16,000 barrier.

We are greatly encouraged by the sales growth of Discovery Sport (4,642), Range Rover Sport (3,355) and Range Rover Evoque (3,088), as well as F-PACE (1,257) and XE (1303).
These results are mainly due to the ongoing dedication of the JLR dealer network, where the focus on quality processes and Customer First Principals is reaping rewards.

The last 12 months has also seen the reveal of three completely new product lines, and successful growth across many of our existing products.

Jaguar sales are still increasing and Jaguar is now one of Australia's fastest growing brands.
This financial year we are looking forward to the launch of the all-new Discovery and all-new Range Rover Velar, which by the reaction thus far, we expect will take us to another level"

Retail sales for Jaguar were a record 3,148 vehicles in the financial year, up 83% compared to the prior year, primarily driven by the successful introduction of the F-PACE and solid sales of the XE and XF. Jaguar retails in the Fourth Quarter were 820 vehicles, up 20% on the same quarter last year, and 301 units in the month of March, up 10% compared to March 2016.

Land Rover had another record year, retailing 13,452 vehicles this financial year, up 2% compared to last year, as continuing strong sales of the Discovery Sport, Evoque and Range Rover Sport were offset by the run-out of Defender and Discovery. Retail sales for Land Rover for the Fourth Quarter were 4,093 units, down 3% on quarter four last year, and retails in March were 1,580 vehicles, up 2% compared to March 2016.

Last month Land Rover revealed the Velar, a new addition to the Range Rover family, positioned between Evoque and Range Rover Sport.
