Whitley, UK, 17 May 2018 – To coincide with International Red Cross Week, Land Rover has created a film celebrating the life-saving and life-changing services of the Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers.

Land Rover and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have a long-standing strategic partnership. Established in 1954 with the British Red Cross, together they have reached more than one million people in vulnerable communities, supporting 18 humanitarian projects, in 25 countries, across four continents.

The film, distributed across Land Rover and Red Cross Societies' digital channels, showcases an Italian Red Cross volunteering project - The Streets of Solidarity - which supports thousands of homeless people in Milan.

It captures the team of volunteers, who visit the homeless community in Milan nightly, with the support of Land Rover vehicles. They are assisted by a professional psychologist who uses a Land Rover Discovery Sport as a mobile consulting unit, first aid specialists who provide medical assistance and warm food, as well as therapeutic services, and help to find safe shelter and ways they can reintegrate into society.

Dr Jemilah Mahmood, Under Secretary General for Partnerships at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said: "Red Cross volunteers are engaged and passionate people who go above and beyond to help people in crisis. They are the backbone of our movement and are central to all the activities of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, contributing to the success of our National Societies and assisting millions of vulnerable people in times of greatest need."

Mark Cameron, Global Experiential Marketing Director, Jaguar Land Rover said: "We are immensely proud of our long-standing relationship with the IFRC and its passionate network of volunteers.  Their brave and selfless endeavour brings life-changing help and relief to people that are most in need around the world."

As part of the brand's year of 70th anniversary celebrations, Land Rover will highlight extraordinary volunteering stories in diverse Red Cross projects around the world through an ongoing global digital campaign.
