Brand-New Mazda CX-9 - Mazda's seven-seater SUV - has arrived in Australia and is on sale now.

The all-new second-generation Mazda CX-9 boasts fuel economy figures that are almost 25 per cent better than the previous model, and a range of standard class-leading safety technologies. It has also been awarded a maximum 5 star ANCAP rating.

With a record 82,000 potential buyers registering their interest in Mazda's large SUV, of which 23,000 have requested direct contact by a Dealer as soon as they arrive on the showroom floor, interest in the CX-9 has never been higher.

Available in four grades for the first time, the Brand-New Mazda CX-9 range includes the entry-level Sport, the core-grade Touring, the high-grade GT and the top of the range Azami.

Starting from $42,490*, the well-appointed Mazda CX-9 Sport features 18-inch alloy wheels, MZD Connect, satellite navigation, reverse camera with rear parking sensors, Smart City Brake Support (Forward/Reverse), Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring and LED headlamps.

The core-grade Mazda CX-9 Touring, from $48,890*, has everything listed on the Sport model but also includes front fog-lamps, the larger 8-inch touch-screen display, 6-way power adjusted front seats with heating function and driver lumbar support, and black leather trim.

The GT grade - which starts at $57,390* - enjoys a big jump in spec with the larger 20-inch alloys, advanced keyless entry, remote operated power tailgate, front parking sensors, a windscreen positioned active driving display, and the audio system features digital radio (DAB+). The Azami model - priced from $59,390* - has Mazda Radar Cruise control and an array of additional i-ACTIVSENSE technologies. Both come with standard black leather or Natural Stone leather as an optional extra.

Brand-New Mazda CX-9 features an all-new 2.5 litre direct-injection turbo charged petrol engine, with both i-stop and i-ELOOP technology, that outputs 170kW of power at 5,000rpm and 420Nm of torque at a low 2,000rpm, while fuel economy numbers for Front-Wheel Drive models start from a low 8.4 litres per 100 kilometres and 8.8 litres per hundred for All-Wheel Drive alternatives.

Running on standard unleaded (91 RON) or with E10, Brand-New Mazda CX-9 will be the most economical seven-seater petrol model in its class.

Brand-New Mazda CX-9 has been crashed tested for the first time, earning a coveted 5 star ANCAP safety rating, and it is better equipped to avoid accidents thanks to a range of class-leading standard i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies.

For the first time, Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring (ABSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Smart City Brake Support [Forward/Reverse] (SCBS F/R) are standard across the entire CX-9 range.

Additional i-ACTIVSENSE technologies, such as Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), which incorporates High Beam Control (HBC), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Lane Keep-assist System (LAS), Smart Brake Support (SBS), Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW), Lane Departure warning (LDW) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop and go function are standard on the range-topping Azami grade.
