V8 SUPERCAR driver Lee Holdsworth will help launch the
award-winning Chevy Silverado sports truck to Victorian drivers
when he appears at the new Melbourne Performax dealership in Melton
next Saturday.
Holdsworth, who drives his own Silverado on the road when not
racing a Gary Rogers Motorsport Holden Commodore V8 Supercar, will
be on hand from 10am to midday to meet fans and show them around
the toughest ute for sale in Australia.
Melbourne Performax, part of the Harrison Motoring Group, is
located at 143-147 High Street, Melton, adjacent to the
family-owned company's Melton Toyota dealership.
Customers who purchase a Silverado between Saturday and
Saturday-week will receive free side-steps, trailer hitch, tub
liner and mud flaps valued at more than $3000.
Silverados are imported and re-engineered for Australian Design
Rule compliance by Australia's leading independent American vehicle
importer Performax International.
The Silverado will be the focus of Melbourne Performax activity,
given its suitability for a wide range of uses from recreation to
heavy-duty towing and industries such as construction, farming and
mining.
However, Dealer Principal Grant Harrison and his team also will
be able to assist motorists keen to buy other iconic American
muscle machines imported by Performax, such as the Chevy Corvette
and Camaro and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
Winner of the 2011 US Motor Trend Truck of the Year, the
Silverado features a 6.6 litre Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine
pushing 296 kiloWatts through a six-speed Alison automatic gearbox
and four-wheel drive.
With a towing capacity of 9.8 tonnes and maximum payload of up
to 3,010kg (3500HD) make it ideal for hauling heavy fifth-wheel
trailers and caravans while the driver and four passengers ride in
spacious comfort in a luxurious, leather-upholstered
crew-cabin.
