DIRECT from America, Nissan's powerful Titan XD four-wheel drive pick-up engineered by Performax International will make its debut as the ideal towing partner at the Queensland Caravan Camping & Touring Supershow in Brisbane this week.

The show marks the official release of Performax's right-hand drive Titan range, which joins the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford Super Duty, GMC Denali and Toyota Tundra in Australia's most comprehensive line-up of all-V8, 4WD American pick-ups under one roof.

The Titan is powered by a 5.0 Cummins turbodiesel engine producing 235 kiloWatts of power and 752 Newtonmetres of torque. Delivered through an Aisin six-speed automatic gearbox and dual-range, on-demand 4WD, this gives the Titan the ability to carry a 900 kilogram payload or tow up to 5.2 tonnes.

The Queensland Caravan Camping & Touring Supershow runs from Wednesday to Monday at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Visitors will see the top-of-range Titan XD Platinum Reserve crew-cab, priced at $139,000 plus on-road charges, but Performax International is taking orders for the full range of diesel Titans starting with the $105,000 single-cab and including the $135,000 PRO-4X sports model with Bilstein suspension.

The Performax International display in the Gregory Terrace outdoor section of the Queensland Caravan Camping & Touring Supershow also will feature the latest Chevrolet Silverado and a pre-production preview of the widely-anticipated, aluminium-bodied Ford-250 Super Duty.

The Nissan Titan XD boasts an impressive combination of power, strength and comfort for pulling heavy caravans, boats, horse floats and other large trailers. An innovative Trailer Light Check makes it easy to remotely check the safe operation of all trailer light connections by using the ignition smart-key.

Over a fully-boxed ladder chassis, the cargo bed is 2.0 metres long and 1.62 metres wide. Features include a 120 Volt power outlet and overhead light, plus available inboard TITAN Boxes for secure storage, Utili-track tie-down system, under-rail cargo bed and tailgate lighting and tailgate operation with dampening and electric locking.

The interior provides spacious, lounge-like comfort for five occupants in typical American-luxury style. The Platinum Reserve's leather-wrapped front captain's chairs feature heating, cooling and eight-way adjustment with memory settings that also link steering wheel and outside mirror positions.

Crew-cab variants include a large locking compartment under the rear seat bench.

The Titan takes off-roading in its stride, aided by a 20-inch wheel and tyre combination, 360-degree surround cameras, extensive under-body protection, hill-start assist, tyre-pressure monitoring, vehicle dynamic control and trailer-sway control. Occupants are catered for with Nissan's available Zero Gravity comfort seating.

Right-hand drive Performax vehicles are converted at the company's Gympie, Queensland, factory to ISO 9001 Quality Assurance and ISO/TS 16949 Automotive Quality Management standards and meet Australian Design Rules, ensuring their eligibility for registration in any State or Territory.

Delivered with factory-original standards of engineering, driveability, reliability, durability and fit and finish, they are backed by the company's three-year warranty, 24-hour roadside assistance, in-house service and parts departments and a national network of authorised dealers.
