Following its first official worldwide presentation at the Shanghai Motor Show, the SXC, Peugeot's new concept car, designed by the international styling teams at the marque's China Tech Centre in Shanghai, received the award of "Most Beautiful Vehicle of the Year", in the concept car category from the Chinese edition of Car and Driver magazine in Shanghai.

Handing the award to Peter Gong, Peugeot chief designer and head of the SXC project, Mr Miao Jun, the magazine's editor in chief, hailed the SXC as "the first Peugeot concept car devised and designed in China, and the most attractive in the history of the Peugeot marque". The SXC was honoured in particular for its lines, "a unique blend of elegance, purity and dynamism".

A high-end crossover, with powerful, elegant lines, the SXC is equipped with a HYbrid4 drive-rain, combining a 218 CV 1.6 Turbo trol engine in the front and a 95 CV electric motor at the rear. Launched in 1995, the Chinese edition of Car and Driver magazine has established itself as an automobile publishing benchmark in China, selling almost 500,000 copies every month. This is the fifth edition of the award.
