With over 410,000 vehicles sold over the last decade, the Piaggio Liberty, which started off the high wheel scooter sales phenomenon, remains an exceptionally successful product.

Originally launched in a 50cc two-stroke displacement, the Liberty was the first scooter in its category to appear in a 125cc four-stroke version before moving up to a 150cc and now a 200cc displacement.

New features

Liberty

The Liberty's elegant styling remains unchanged on the classic version, except for the fenders, now a dark grey, and the seat, with a new design making it possible to place a jet helmet in the under seat storage area.

Engines

The Liberty and Liberty S are available in a wide range of engine displacements: from a sparkling 50cc two-stroke and an environment-friendly, cost-effective 50cc four-stroke to the classic four-stroke 125cc and all-new 200cc.

The two-valve, air-cooled 200cc engine, designed specifically for the Liberty, is quick off the mark in town traffic and equally suitable for travel out of town. The choice of this displacement is intended to deliver fluid power and torque at low rpm to emphasise the scooter's excellent acceleration and pick-up and hence its overall agility. However, the 200cc also capable of effortlessly maintaining higher speeds on longer rides.

The 125cc four-stroke is the perfect blend of performance, ease of use and cost-effectiveness. The Liberty 125 is a very easy way to get around town with a passenger.

The two Hi-Per 50cc engines give young riders and women a choice between a sparkling two-stroke and an efficient four-stroke able to deliver performance comparable to a two-stroke while reducing fuel consumption considerably, so much so that it can travel 260 km on a full tank.
