Subaru Australia sales of 5006 vehicles in March sealed a market-defying first quarter of growth, according to official VFACTS figures released today.
Subaru sales in March were up 3.8% and Year-to-Date (YTD) 8.4% - versus monthly market growth of just 0.9% and a decline of -2.1% YTD.
The runaway success of new generation Impreza has aided the Subaru charge, with March sales of 1168 up 79.7% for the month and 110.2% YTD.
Also maintaining a long-established pattern of strong sales was Outback, with 1202 in March, up 4.5%; and Forester with 1218.
The refreshed BRZ sold 58, up 38.1% for March and 29.5% YTD.
Subaru's market share for the month was 4.7% and 4.6% YTD.
Subaru Australia Managing Director, Colin Christie, said: "We're delighted by first quarter sales, which reflect fantastic customer interest across the range.
"New generation Impreza is appealing to a wide audience and attracting newcomers to Subaru too, particularly at the younger end of the spectrum.
"We're excited about the second quarter as we also start to preview next generation XV, which we're quietly confident will follow the successful trend of Impreza."
