Subaru sales of 4579 vehicles in August made it the fastest growing top 10 brand in the automotive industry, according to official VFACTS figures released today.
Subaru sales grew 36.2% compared to August 2016 and year-to-date (YTD) performance is up 13.1%, in an overall market up just 1.8% for the month and 0.6% YTD.
Subaru's monthly market share of 4.7% was achieved with outstanding sales of new generation vehicles – Impreza sold 972, up 230.6% for the month and 131.0% YTD. XV sales of 1176 were up 139.0% for the month.
Also performing strongly was WRX, with 271 sales, up 19.9% for the month.
Adding to the Subaru sports car stable success was BRZ, with 71 sales, up 787.5% for the month and 96.3% YTD.
Forester sales of 984 were also up 5.5% for the month.
Colin Christie, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: "August was our 32nd consecutive month of growth, so it's no aberration and we're delighted by the broad acceptance of our new generation Impreza and XV in particular, which are introducing many new customers to Subaru.
"The sports car stable is also performing well, with buyers acknowledging the fun and value in the WRX and BRZ ranges."
