Subaru has unveiled the VIZIV 2 concept overnight at the 2014
Geneva International Motor Show.
Featuring a four-door body, which offers both utility and a
sporty cabin, VIZIV 2 is powered by a plug-in hybrid system that
uses a 1.6-litre Horizontally-Opposed Direct Injection Turbocharged
(DIT) engine, combined with high torque-compatible Lineartronic
(CVT), with one front motor and two rear motors.
Components for the hybrid system include a high voltage battery,
while it maintains Subaru's unique Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive
(AWD) layout, delivering superb driveability, based on the low
centre of gravity and superior weight distribution.
VIZIV 2 has an independent rear motor-driven symmetrical AWD
system, which points the way to a future generation of Subaru
technology.
Subaru says VIZIV 2 also illustrates the brand's goal for the
future of safety technology, with the adoption of an innovative
autopilot system.
VIZIV 2 follows the VIZIV concept revealed at the 2013 Geneva
Motor Show and VIZIV Evolution concept exhibited at the 2013 Tokyo
Motor Show.
The name VIZIV derives from "Vision for Innovation", an
expression of Subaru's future direction.
