Triumph. The new designer label

It’s a little known fact that Triumph design their own motorcycle clothing, rather than badging their logo onto other people’s garments. Only by controlling the design and spec themselves - just like they do with their bikes - can Triumph be sure to get the performance that modern motorcycle clothing must have. And anyway, who wants to wear the same thing as everybody else? This way Triumph clothing is as individual and stylish as a Triumph bike. The same rules apply to the casual wear. T-shirts may not have to perform like bike clothing, but they still have to look good.

Jackets are tailored to be just as comfortable, whether riding or not. To that end, Triumph have created different designs for different bikes in the range. So a jacket cut for a more radical riding position like that of a Daytona 675 will be different to a jacket designed for a more relaxed bike like a Bonneville.

For 2007, Triumph are launching an array of new performance and casual garments along with their largest collection of casual t-shirts. These products could grace any department store or designer boutique but instead are exclusively available from authentic Triumph dealers.

Triumph’s Technical Clothing

Whilst the technical expertise that goes into every Triumph that rolls off the production line can be easily appreciated, be assured that the clothing is also manufactured to the highest standards, using the latest, most technical leathers, materials and production techniques.

Triumph’s leatherwear is made from full grain leather. This comes at a premium because the hides have to be free from any potential weak spots - like those created by a brush with a barbed wire fence for instance.

Impact seams are all double stitched. That way, if the exposed stitching is abraded, the deeper, hidden stitching is there as a second line of defence to save the integrity of the garment – and skin. Similarly, double leather panels are used in vulnerable areas like elbows and seats to give better resistance to abrasion.

Knox Production

Protective armour in Triumph’s leather and textile clothing comfortably exceeds the latest safety standards. It’s supplied by Knox, world leaders in impact protection for motorcyclists - including MotoGP and Superbike riders. Despite being flexible and ultra light, the Knox Air CE approved protectors perform brilliantly. Their immensely hard outer shell is injected to form a hexagonal inner crumple zone.  The additional EVA rubber lining absorbs even more energy.

Sympatex

A bike can be ridden in pretty much any kind of weather, but it’s far more pleasant to stay dry. That’s why Sympatex is used in Triumph clothing. Sympatex is a clever, polyester-based membrane that allows vapour to escape, preventing dampness but keeping wet weather out. It doesn’t rely on tiny holes to work, so unlike some technical membranes it won’t gradually block with dirt and become less effective over time. Sympatex are a German company with 25 years’ experience of making waterproof products and whilst they use their ingenuity trying to make the products leak under lab conditions, Triumph do their torture tests with official test riders on real roads for thousands of hard miles.

Riders Association of Triumph

Specially developed with Triumph’s own riders in mind, this is a range of clothing for wearing off the bike or under motorcycle kit. The range includes clothing with a high level of technical performance to give maximum comfort in all riding conditions: Tri-Thermo garments to keep the rider warm without the need for bulky layers and Tri-Dri products to wick moisture away from the body.

Triumph’s Casual Wear

Over 60 new styles make up the 2007 range of t-shirts, zip-ups, sweats and vests.  Headlining the range are Triumph’s collection of vintage sixty8 t-shirts. Inspired by classic images from their archive of vintage tees, period ads and posters and given a modern remix, these garments are the authentic alternative. Included in this range are the Dylan T-shirt - inspired by the t-shirt worn by Bob Dylan on the cover of the Highway 61 Revisited album; the Deco Tee takes its inspiration from the 1939 advert where three 650 Thunderbirds completed 500 miles at 90mph in endurance testing at the Montlhery Track, Paris; and Global, inspired by the 1960’s when Triumphs were exported across the globe. The factory in Meriden, Coventry ran at full capacity to meet the huge global demand and the bikes were made iconic by movie stars, like Steve McQueen, who rode them.

Personal Accessories

A wide selection of new personal accessories adds to the 2007 range, from a beach towel to a bottle opener; high quality watches to courier bags. These accessories are the perfect gift for Triumph aficionados and trend-setters alike!
