Ivan Clementi powered to the pole in the second qualifying
session of the Triumph ParkinGO European Series today. The Italian
rider further improved his time to set the fastest time of the day,
in the last round of the competition. Matthieu Lagrive finished
behind him to barely beat Fabrizio Perotti, while Frenchman David
Dumain also qualified in the front row, over a second behind third
place.
It seems as the top three riders will be battling for victory
tomorrow, with a second possible group behind them made up of
Dumain, Bouvier, Salom and Rovelli, who finished qualifying in this
exact order, with a small gap between them of a few tenths of a
second. Samuela De Nardi will start from row 2 as well, after
finishing eighth.
Ivan Clementi: "Despite setting a good
qualifying time, I can do better. The bike is performing well, but
I'm pretty sure it's going to be a tough race tomorrow, Perotti and
Lagrive are very experienced and fast. We'll have fun".
Fabrizio Perotti: "A slower rider was on my
way, just as I was improving my time, I could've qualified second,
but it wouldn't have made much difference. I would love to end the
season with a win to celebrate my championship victory in the best
possible way, but I'm sure this is going to be the toughest race of
the season, with two world class riders such as Lagrive and
Clementi as my rivals".
