are pleased to announce the release of the K104B, the latest
evolution of Australia’s best selling heavy-duty cab over
truck.
Since its introduction in 1971, well in excess of 10,000
Australian designed and manufactured K series C.O.E.’s have
been sold in Australia and New Zealand. There have been many new K
series models and countless enhancements in that time, with
Kenworth developing, tailoring and introducing new technologies as
they become available, and responding to changing customer needs
and government legislation.
Continuing this evolutionary journey, the Kenworth K104B builds
on this unparalleled heritage.

includes improvements to cab access, driver visibility, interior
ergonomics and an even higher level of overall quality and finish.

Improved Cab Access
The K104B cab access system features wide, evenly spaced steps,
extending lower to the ground than the previous model. These new
steps are complemented with an additional cab foot well and new
grab rails.
This new cab access system was developed in accordance with the
recommendations of independent international ergonomic OH & S
specialists and designed around industry standard dimensional
criteria. These criteria include having consistent step dimensions
and allowing the driver to maintain continuous three points of
contact at all times utilising the system of grab rails and
steps.
The steps also feature durable aluminium non-slip surfaces and
LED illumination within the cab foot wells.
Central Locking Linked to LED Step Lights
The LED step lights are integrated with the remote control
central locking system to automatically illuminate the cab access
steps when the cab is unlocked. This enhances safe night-time entry
and exit from the cab.
Improved Driver Visibility
The revised design of the K104B features raised cab door
apertures. This new, higher, door position enhances driver comfort
and safety by offering an increased field of vision, from the
seated position, out towards the sides, and into the rear view
mirrors.
Improved Interior Trim and Finish
The K104B interior features a luxurious high quality finish with
greater use of soft ‘plush’ vinyl and recessed
panels.
New Instrument Dash
The K104B Instrument layout has been simplified and features an
additional warning light cluster. This new cluster has been
designed to provide the driver with all the required warning
devices and signals within the same dash location, enabling the
driver to be less distracted from the road ahead.
New Centre and Overhead Consoles
The K104B new centre console incorporates a larger storage box
with secure lid. It is ideal for storing light refreshments and
personal items.
The overhead console has also been enhanced with a new design
including overhead storage locker and recessed panels for improved
finish incorporating provision for dealer fitted GPS navigation or
other driver information displays.
Stainless Steel Inspection Door
Pre-trip checking of fluid levels has always been an easy task
on the K104. The K104B has been enhanced with the addition of a
bright finish stainless steel access door covering the dipstick and
filler tube.
New Aerofoil Side Extenders
The aerofoil side extenders have been redesigned for a flush
finish.
