Sydney, 05-04-2022 – CUPRA's unique to Australia Formentor VZx Launch Edition sold out yesterday shortly after being made available for online sale at noon.
At $69,990 driveaway, this special Formentor is fitted as standard with a Brembo brake package that will be a $4,150 option of the 'standard' VZx when it goes on sale with the rest of the CUPRA range in July.
The 50 Formentor VZx Launch Editions went within hours of this version of the multi-award winning crossover car being offered.
The Formentor VZx Launch Edition was offered with one-off Launch Editions of the Ateca VZx and the Leon VZx performance hatchback.
A limited quantity of the Ateca and Leon remained this morning. These are priced respectively at $69,990 and $67,990 driveaway.
CUPRA is contacting customers who missed out on the Formentor Launch Edition to ensure priority for future vehicle arrivals. Customers who succeeded in snaring full-optioned Launch Editions will take delivery beginning in July as the full range goes on sale.
The CUPRA range has garnered more than 9000 expressions of customer interest so far, the majority for Formentor followed by the BORN EV, which was confirmed for Australia last month by the brand's global head Wayne Griffiths, ahead of early 2023 deliveries.
The CUPRA Leon VZ, VZe and VZx, Formentor V, VZ, VZe and VZx, and Ateca VZx will be available to order from June.
When these vehicles arrive in July, CUPRA will have agents in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the ACT. The halo of these City Garages will be in the Sydney CBD, with more details revealed soon.
Director of CUPRA Australia Ben Wilks said that customers were responding strongly to the brand's "singular focus on performance and design".
"We've said from the announcement of CUPRA coming to this country, that ours won't be brand that's liked by everyone, rather it will be loved by some, and we saw that yesterday."
