GWM is proud to announce a significant milestone, achieving 150,000 vehicle sales since its introduction to the Australian market in mid-2009. Since entering the Australian market, GWM has continually expanded its offering, providing a diverse range of vehicles, underpinned by exceptional value to meet Australian consumer needs.
Initially supported though the stewardship of an independent distributor, GWM recognised the significance of the Australian market to their global expansion in 2016, leading to the establishment of a factory-owned subsidiary.
Guided by a new long-term strategy, GWM launched the "ONE GWM" global strategy in 2022, allowing the brand to move forward with a more cohesive and recognisable global presence across multiple model lines. Facilitated by strategic planning, enhanced product ranges, improved build quality, this strategy now allows for the introduction of more premium products, meeting higher demands of consumers. This revised strategy has resulted in 55%+ of the total Australian volume being delivered in the last three years.

The 150,000th GWM vehicle was sold in July 2024 at GWM Geelong (Victoria) with the owner selecting a Haval H6 Ultra in black, complimenting her partners white Haval H6 which was purchased just weeks earlier.
The GWM brand in Australia now sells 8 models, including the popular Haval SUVs, Tank 4x4, GWM Ute and ORA EV. As GWM continues to grow, the company is dedicated to further enhancing its product offerings and expanding its presence in Australia. Exciting new models are on the horizon, aiming to provide even more customer choices and benefits to Australian drivers focused on innovation, safety, and value for money.
The Australian GWM dealer network now comprises 103 dealers ensuring that customers from all corners of the country can enjoy the GWM ownership experience wherever they travel.
