GWM has achieved a record 3.9% market share for a 9th position finish in September 2024 thanks to ongoing growth from new and established models.
According to VFACTS national sales data, GWM’s 3,802 sales in September is the brand’s third highest ever monthly sales result and propels GWM into the top 10 Year-To-Date (YTD).
Despite ongoing challenging macroeconomic conditions, GWM was able to exceed expectation in what is traditionally known as a challenging period in the automotive industry, post EOFY.
VFACTS data shows GWM continued to outpace the market in September, with sales of 3,802 units representing an increase of 31.2% over September 2023. YTD, GWM’s overall sales of 31,793 sit 22.8% up against a industry increase of just 3.1%.
The Haval Jolion small SUV led the way in September with 1,125 sales for an 9.5% segment share with YTD sales now 23.8% up year-on-year. Haval H6 posted 907 sales for a 12.7% increase over September 2023 while the Tank 4x4 range further reinforced GWM’s strong SUV credentials with a combined contribution of 516 sales.
Steve Maciver, GWM Haval’s Head of Marketing & Communications, says: “These results demonstrate that GWM’s product and pricing strategies are right for Australian consumers. We remain committed to bringing the best possible products and value to market and remain firmly on track for further growth.”
GWM is one of the fastest growing automotive brands in Australia. The volume success is linked to the expanded product range offering in the first half of 2024, introducing new models such as the Tank 500, Cannon Alpha, Australia’s first hybrid ute, and the new Haval Jolion Hybrid.
The GWM brand currently sells 8 models across the Haval SUV, Tank 4x4, Ora EV and GWM Ute ranges via its
network of 107 dealers nationally.
