The first shipment of Great Wall Steeds has arrived as China's best-selling utility brand prepares for a relaunch in Australia.
Great Wall Motors Australia Managing Director Parker Shi said the all-new Steed dual cab utility would usher in a new era for value for the Australian light commercial market.
"We will launch with a three model line-up boasting a rugged new design, high levels of safety, one-tonne payload and very attractive price points for Australian customers.
"The line-up will include three dual cab versions – a 4x4 diesel, 4x2 diesel and 4x2 petrol – with ESP and six airbags standard on all three models.
"They will all come with a long list of creature comforts, including cruise control, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning and heated front seats."
Great Wall Motors Australia assumed control of its Australian and NZ operations on July 1, this year, pledging continued service for the existing customer base and dealer network.
Mr Shi said negotiations with the sales network were going well, with 50 dealers already committing to the brand to provide Australia-wide coverage at launch.
"The dealers have been impressed by the new Steed and our commitment to customers.
"We are determined to offer new levels of customer service. We have already been overwhelmed by the positive response from many of the existing customers to the new Great Wall Australia organisation," Mr Shi said.
The new Great Wall Steed dual cab utility will go on sale in September. Pricing will be announced at launch.
