NEW ENHANCEMENT PACKAGES FOR 306 AND 406
Aggressively styled performance enhancement packages for the Peugeot 306 hatch and 406 sedan are now available.
Designed for enthusiast drivers the official packages reflect Peugeot's long performance and motorsport heritage with suspension and exhaust modifications to match the dynamic body elements.
According to Shane Priest, Managing Director of Peugeot Concessionaires Australia (PCA), "These packages are aimed at a selective but growing group of new car customers who are keen to add a touch of individuality to their cars but who also want the reassurance of genuine manufacturer's components."
The new range is the result of a specific development program between Peugeot product engineers and leading specialist equipment manufacturers such as Janspeed, Cibie, Zender, Remus and F1 suspension supplier Eibach.
The body styling elements include spoilers, side skirts, 16" alloy wheels and a selection of high quality alloy and composite finishers for items such as the fuel filler cover, door handles and B-pillar covers.
Sports styling is carried over to the interior of the 306 with alloy fittings including an alloy handbrake cover, gear knob and sill guards available.
BELCHAMPS TESTED
Performance components such as suspension lowering kits, sports exhaust systems and 16" alloy wheels are made to manufacturer's specifications and have been tested at Automobile Peugeot's Belchamps proving ground.
In launching the new packages PCA's Parts Sales & Marketing Manager Derek Tomlinson said, "Peugeot has a reputation for producing performance cars such as the legendary 205 GTI, the 405 MI16 and now the superb 306 GTI 6.
"He adds, "This range has been designed to reflect that reputation and allow customers to add some individuality in a way which is in keeping with Peugeot's high engineering standards."
The 406 package consists of 16" x 7.0 alloy wheels fitted with 215/55 tyres, a body kit including front spoiler, rear skirt and boot spoiler, an Eibach spring kit (lowering the suspension 30mm) and a Remus sports exhaust.
Total cost of the components is $7,310 (including sales tax) with fitting cost ranging between $2,000 to $2,500.
The 306 more comprehensive package consists of 16" x 7.0 alloy wheels fitted with 205/45 tyres, a body kit including front spoiler, rear and side skirts, twin hi-beam Cibie headlight kit, fog lamps, an Eibach spring kit (lowering the suspension 30mm) and sports exhaust.
Total cost of the components is $9,240 (including sales tax) with fitting cost ranging between $2,200 to $2,700.
This sports styling of the 306 can be enhanced with the addition of special alloy components including an exhaust trim, gear lever knob, handbrake lever cover, filler caps, door handles, roof aerial, sill guards, floor mats and composite B-pillar trims, for a further $2,460.
