Peugeot have provided a perfect solution for those of us who want to make an environmentally sound choice when choosing our next car. But you had better be quick as the new 307 HDi 'OXYGO' is strictly a limited edition model.
Designed to save you money at the fuel pump thanks to Peugeot's advanced HDi diesel engine technology, the car has also been designed to minimise harmful greenhouse gas emissions. As with all Peugeot diesel models, the 'OXYGO' is equipped with Peugeot's patented particulate filter (FAP), which reduces particulate emissions to barely measurable levels. In fact, in urban environments the air from the car's exhaust actually has fewer particulates than the air the engine takes in.
Equipped exclusively with a latest generation 6-speed automatic gearbox, and topping out the 307 diesel range, the new OXYGO has a combined fuel consumption figure of 6.7 litres per 100km, giving the car a standard tank range of 896km's – or some 1100km's on the highway cycle. Surprising to some, this economy is achieved without any loss of performance, as the 307 OXYGO is powered by Peugeot's famed 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine, which develops 320Nm of torque to deliver a truly spirited driving experience.
To further enhance the environmental benefits of the 307 HDi 'OXYGO', Peugeot is pleased to announce that in partnership with Greenfleet, 20 trees will be planted for each model sold, and to reflect this commitment to the environment each car will receive a unique HDi badge, featuring a green 'i'.
The new model benefits from the long list of standard features from the 307 XSE range, and gains in addition the following features; 5 stack in dash CD unit, 17" alloy wheels, rear parking assistance, white instrument dials, metallic paint, a unique charcoal cloth trim and special 'OXYGO' badging.
The 307 HDi Oxygo will help meet the incredible demand Peugeot is experiencing for its 307 diesel models, which are accounting for over 60% of all 307 sales. Sales of the 307 range are up 55% year to date compared to the same time last year.
The 307 HDi Oxygo is now on sale, priced from $36,990 for the hatch, and $38,690 for the Touring.
