- SsangYong Motor announces the launch of its first EV for the first half of 2021
- Mid-sized SUV with space and versatility, and an all-new design approach along with market focused features
Developed under the project code name E100, images of the all-new EV ahead of its launch next year graphically expresses its exterior design. This mid-sized family SUV with spacious accommodation and versatility adopts a new approach to body design, while utilising the latest materials to maximise efficiency.
The overall design has generous proportions with an aerodynamic profile and sealed front grille to express an appealing urban style. For maximised energy efficiency, light-weight materials have been utilised including an all-aluminium bonnet - a first for SsangYong.
The design is inspired from nature, especially animals that have adapted to their environment through evolution, such as shark's fins and scales to minimise wind and water resistance, thus expressing design maturity with a dynamic style.
This first EV for SsangYong is set to be released in the first half of next year, and expected to bring a significant addition to the marketplace with a future-focused design for both the interior and exterior, and a new level of product quality.
SsangYong Australia is yet to confirm details or introduction dates to the Australian market. As a global vehicle, the E100 was developed and tested in various environments including Australia's harsh and unpredictable climate. SsangYong Australia chief operating officer Chris Mandile is enthusiastic about the new vehicle and its potential for induction into the local portfolio.
