Subaru has unveiled an updated All-Wheel Drive Tribeca at the New York International Auto Show, featuring revised exterior design and new engine.
The updated car is not expected to be on sale in Australia until January 2008.
The U.S. specification Model Year 2008 Tribeca features Subaru's largest-ever engine, a 3.6 litre horizontally opposed six cylinder that produces 190kW of power and 334 Nm of torque on regular unleaded fuel.
Exterior design is refined and includes a wider and taller grille, new front fenders, bonnet, headlights, rear three-quarter windows, wing mirrors and tail lamps.
The grille is now integrated into the bumper, with the Subaru star cluster emblem a focal point.
Tribeca's new engine produces improved low-end torque, while compatibility with regular unleaded fuel helps reduce running costs.
It maintains the emission levels of the current 3.0 litre engine while delivering improved fuel efficiency.
The five-speed Sportshift automatic transmission is also substantially revised, producing faster shifts and reaction time while weighing less than the current version.
Inside, third-row seat access is enhanced and rear suspension is re-calibrated to improve ride comfort.
Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: "The updated Tribeca will not be produced for right-hand drive markets until year end, so it won't reach Australia until January.
"However, we believe it will further underline Tribeca's appeal as a premium vehicle that represents remarkable value in its class.
"It will maintain its status as a leader in its category for safety, engineering and overall specification."
