The latest Driving Your Dollars report from RACV has been released with Suzuki vehicles announced as costing the lowest to own and operate in every competing segment.
In this year's report 139 vehicles across 14 categories were analysed. The assessment takes into account purchase price, trade-in value, fuel, depreciation, maintenance and finally total cost per km among other variables.
Good news for Suzuki owners is class honours were received in the small 2WD SUV segment with Suzuki's Vitara RT-S at $153.84 per week. Class honours were also received in the light car segment with the Swift GL calculated at $117.80 per week, with the nimble Baleno GL close behind at only $125.85 per week.
Furthermore, both the Swift GL and Vitara RT-S topped their classes with respect to trade-in value when depreciation is compared to purchase price. Demonstrating just another way Suzuki drives value.
With safety features such as six airbags, ESC, ABS and brake assist plus the economy of just 4.6 litres per 100 kilometres, the new generation Suzuki Swift GL – soon to be available with manual transmission – is clearly one of the best value new cars on the market.
This year's overall average has increased 0.8 per cent as a result of rising fuel prices, and government fees. Resulting in the standard weekly spend now sitting at $209.50 per week – substantially higher than all three Suzuki models featured in the report.
Suzuki Australia General Manager – Automotive, Michael Pachota says the value for money across the entire range reflects highly on the Suzuki brand.
"It is humbling to hear that three Suzuki products have excelled in this report, with two vehicles taking top honours. It truly confirms the overall efficiency and value for money the Suzuki product provides for Australian consumers."
