Vespa has now added even more flair to its model line-up with
the release of the all-new LX 'S' 125.
The minimalist styling on the compact and frugal four-stroke is
inspired by legendary 1970s models such as the 50 Special and Vespa
Primavera, which came to life in a decade which revolutionised our
way of life. The Vespa S is proof that the youthful spirit of Vespa
is still very much alive.
The styling on the $5990 Vespa S, made by Piaggio in Tuscany,
differs significantly from that of the existing LX125. Changes
combine to provide an entirely more aggressive stance with a new
rectangular headlight, new air intake, a new "cut-back" mudguard
and trim, and a black seat with retro white piping. The unique tail
light signs off on this new Italian masterpiece of style.
The engine is an economical yet powerful air-cooled four-stroke,
homologated to meet Europe's tough Euro 3 emission standards.
Furthermore, the S houses a metal-bodied frame, a Piaggio trait
that remains unique in the world of scooters.
"With fuel prices rising rapidly, choosing Vespa doesn't need to
be explained to anyone," said Simon Gloyne, Vespa Brand Manager.
"The added bonus is that it is also a life style choice. Easy to
park, quick through stationary car traffic and fun to boot. Riding
a Vespa morning and night is a real little escape from the everyday
grind."
Colours for the Vespa S are red, white and black, and dedicated
accessories include a windshield, 32-litre top box, a chrome-plated
rear luggage rack and a number of graphics kits to individualise
your new Vespa.
Next month, the LX 'S' 125 will be joined on showrooms by the
similarly styled LX 'S' 50, featuring the single-cylinder Hi-Per2
two-stroke engine, also built to Euro 3 emission standards. The LX
'S' 50 will retail for $3990.
